It contains 75 drum hit samples in total recorded across 15 different voices at 5 different velocities.

The Sound
The grunge drum samples pack was recorded during an online session we did for an artist covering a well-known song from the genre. We put together a hybrid kit and applied some pretty extreme tunings to get the sound just right.
The key to the sound was pitching-down the kick and toms, pitching-up the snare, then hitting the (Neve 1073) preamps pretty hard for some added harmonics. The kit sounds deep and crunchy with a ringing snare that will cut through a mix.
The Kit
“Grunge Kit” was recorded using our DW Collectors series kit, a Yamaha 9000 birch floor tom, Pearl free-floating brass snare, and Zildjian cymbals:

The Patches
We have created sampler patches for the grunge drum samples that “map” the voices and velocities to different keyboard note events.
Simply load the correct format into your software sampler, and you can play beats using your keyboard, or programme beats in your sequencer.

Mixes package contains: 75 WAV files (Stereo 16bit, 44.1 khz) – separate samples as stereo mixes.
Multi-tracks package contains: 1,200 WAV files (24bit, 44.1kz) – separate samples as individual files for each separate channel. Dry with no effects or processing.

Strangely, with the unbelievable amount of drum samples out there, little exists in the way of decent rock genre acoustic kits for samplers such as the EXS24 format. I’ve searched for weeks and having only found a handful I grabbed the Grunge Kit after a short listen. It’s a good kit to have in my arsenal for the styles I do and at this price it seemed almost crazy not to buy it. I’m glad I did.
